    Meet the Lead  instructor

    DESHA ELLIOTT

    Desha, a graduate student researcher, plays a key role as the program architect for the Black Farmer's Equity Initiative in collaboration with Cargill and a national certifying agency. Additionally, she serves as an assistant researcher for Georgia's guaranteed income study. With a finance background, Desha previously managed and established Liberty Tax Service franchises in multiple states.

    Presently, she holds the position of local market expansion manager for the nation's largest community development financial institution where she remains committed to promoting economic development and access to capital. She is an accredited Small Business Consultant by the Association of Accredited Small Business Consultants.

    As an expert in finance, In her classes she teaches students how companies understand accessing capital for their business and how individuals can make wise financial decisions to achieve their financial goals.
